About this book

Book Summary

Thirteen is the legal thriller Lee Child, Michael Connelly, and Ruth Ware are raving about and readers can't put down.

It's the murder trial of the century. And Joshua Kane has killed to get the best seat in the house – and to be sure the wrong man goes down for the crime. Because this time, the killer isn't on trial. He's on the jury.

But there's someone on his tail. Former-conman-turned-criminal-defense-attorney Eddie Flynn doesn't believe that his movie-star client killed two people. He suspects that the real killer is closer than they think – but who would guess just how close?

"A brilliant, twisty, ingeniously constructed puzzle of a book. Steve Cavanagh pulls off an enviable premise with panache." - Ruth Ware

"This tightly plotted page-turner delivers as both a legal thriller and serial killer investigation." - Publishers Weekly (starred review)

"A knockout legal thriller with a doozy of a twist." - Booklist (starred review)

"In spite of mounting murders, the suspense is uneven in Cavanagh's carefully plotted mystery." - Kirkus Reviews

"Cavanagh sets a cracking pace as he switches between Flynn's perspective and that of the murderer in a genuine, read-in-one-sitting page-turner." - The Guardian (UK)

"Thirteen is an outstanding legal thriller, so original, clever and accomplished that it should not be missed. It marks out Cavanagh as the heir apparent to John Grisham." - Express (UK)

"Outstanding - an intriguing premise, a tense, gripping build-up, and a spectacular climax. This guy is the real deal. Trust me." - Lee Child, author of the Jack Reacher series

"An oh so clever hook for an oh so clever, gripping book. Thirteen is courtroom drama at its finest, blended with page-turning twists and characters you can't get enough of. Steve Cavanagh is the John Grisham for a new generation. Slick, thrilling and unique, Thirteen is my favorite read of the year." - Sarah Pinborough, author of Cross Her Heart

A really good mystery
This one will keep you up far into the night. The plot is diabolical. So is the killer.
Eddie Flynn is the one person who believes the actor accused of killing his wife and her body guard is innocent. The bodies are falling fast and thick. The plot twists are delicious.

For a mystery with lots of deaths this one is free of sex, unwarranted violence and curse words. Just a really good story.
